Bay Area Rescue Mission

Second Harvest of Silicon Valley
Our mission is to lead our community to ensure that anyone who needs a healthy meal can get one. Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano
The Food Bank serves approximately 270,000 people in need every month and distributed over 33 million pounds of food last year, more than half of it fresh produce. Our administrative overhead and fundraising cost is approximately 4%. We provide food assistance to children, seniors, people experiencing homelessness, families in crisis, people with health issues, the disabled, and working poor families. The Food Bank also raises community awareness of hunger through nutrition education and anti-hunger advocacy. We engage in robust CalFresh (SNAP) outreach to connect people with this underutilized food resource. All of our varied activities are aimed at alleviating food insecurity for our neighbors in the short term, and in the long run ending hunger in our community.

Redwood Empire Food Bank
The Redwood Empire Food Bank has been feeding our neighbors in need and leading the community to end hunger for 35 years. We distribute food through our own programs and our partner organizations in Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, Humboldt, and Del Norte counties. As the largest hunger-relief organization in our area, we work on the front lines of emergency food assistance in our region, playing a crucial role in helping individuals, families, seniors, and children.

White Pony Express
White Pony Express (WPE) was founded by Dr. Carol Weyland Conner in September 2013. Our goal is to uplift lives. We believe we’re all part of one human family and when one of us moves forward, everyone does. Through a network of 70 partners, we work to help bring people living on the margins into the mainstream.
Our volunteer-powered “circle of giving” is a model whereby surplus food & goods are picked up and delivered to neighbors in need, with love and in the spirit of serving selflessly. Our vision is to create a template for giving that can be replicated in other communities. We operate two primary service programs: Food Rescue and the White Pony General Store.

Food for People
Food for People, the Food Bank for Humboldt County, is working to eliminate hunger and improve the health and well-being of our community through access to healthy and nutritious foods, community education and advocacy. Food for People works to alleviate local hunger and improve the health of the community through its 18 programs which include a countywide network of emergency food pantries; mobile produce distribution to rural areas of the county; food assistance for children, seniors, and homebound individuals; nutrition education; and local food recovery and gleaning efforts. Food for People distributes nearly 2 million pounds of food annually to the county’s most vulnerable members

Open Heart Kitchen
Open Heart Kitchen is the largest hot meal program of its kind in the Tri-Valley Area of Northern California, feeding the hungry across multiple locations in Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin. There is no qualifying process and meals may be eaten at numerous serving sites or taken to go. Guests come from all walks of life and Open Heart Kitchen has become a safety net to those in need during challenging times. Last year, Open Heart Kitchen served more than 2 million meals to those who needed it.

The Food Bank of Nevada County
The Food Bank of Nevada County feeds low- and no-income families in and around the community of Nevada County. Central California Food Bank provides food to over 350,000 people in neighborhoods in Fresno, Madera, Kings, Kern, and Tulare Counties. Placer Food Bank
Placer Food Bank is a member of Feeding America's nationwide network of food banks and is the leading hunger -relief organization serving Placer, Nevada, and El Dorado counties. We operate a large-scale warehouse facility to receive, evaluate, and redistribute donated food from a varietyt of growers, retailers, and wholesalers, coordinate distribution of the food through a network of nearly 100 hunger-focused nonprofit organizations. We also operate a direct distribution program with 10 monthly Pantry To Go drive thru food distributions, and supply food to 20-30 schools and housing communities in Placer and El Dorado counties. We rely heavily on volunteers to support our programs and help us alleviate hunger across Placer, Nevada, and El Dorado counties.
